Publishing and translation

Review your translations without betraying the original

Volume 3 contradicts volume 1 on a character’s eye colour, the German translator uses the familiar form where the Spanish one is formal, and the tone guide was never written — it lives in the editor’s head. Every review starts from nothing.

You describe your work

Nothing to configure. The blueprint derives the agents, their speciality and the folders they need — and submits the lot before writing anything.

Your work

"We publish novels translated into five languages. I want to review the translations without betraying the original, and keep a consistent tone from one volume to the next."

Proposed organisation · nothing written to your drive yet
3 agents proposed
  • Canon keeper/manuscripts

Checks that no fact contradicts the established world

  • Translation reviewer/translations

Compares the target version to the source, deviation by deviation

  • Tone guardian/style

Enforces the register agreed for the series

The workspace takes shape

What you upload and what has to be written together, kept apart. The folders carry the words of your trade — never /documents.

Ts-Agents — Workspace
To upload

The folders are created in your drive. You put your documents in them.

  • /manuscripts4 files

The source texts, one file per volume

  • /translations/<language>2 files

The translated text to review, per language

  • /contractsempty

Rights assignments, to check the required mentions

To write together

These documents do not exist yet. The assistant asks you questions and writes them.

  • /style/tone.mdwritten

The register and vocabulary expected for the series

  • /style/glossary.mdto write

Proper nouns and their fixed translations

You ask, the team works

Every step is visible while it runs: the file read, the specialist consulted. The answer cites the paths it relies on.

Ts-Agents — Conversation

Does the German translation of volume 2 keep the tone we agreed on?

The organisation is working — 4 steps
  • read_filereads /translations/de/volume-2.md
  • ask_agentconsults the canon keeper
  • read_filereads /style/tone.md
  • ask_agentconsults the tone guardian
The register holds throughout, except in chapter 7: three lines switch to the familiar form where /style/tone.md fixes the formal address between Elsa and the bookseller…

Where the AI stops and asks

These checkpoints are written into workflow.md, in plain text. Between two of them the AI works alone; it does not cross one. You decide where they fall.

  • Before fixing a glossary entry — a name translated once is translated for the whole series.
  • Before concluding that an inconsistency is one: it may be the author’s intent.
  • Before writing into the tone guide, which binds every translator.

The project remembers

Your decisions carry from one conversation to the next — and you can read them, correct them, erase them. A memory you cannot contradict is not one.

What the project retained4 entries

Re-read on every request. Correct what is wrong, erase what no longer serves.

## Decisions

- Formal address between Elsa and the bookseller, in every language.
- Volume 2 is set in winter; do not follow the 2024 manuscript.
- Place names are not translated.

## Preferences

- Report deviations by chapter, not line by line.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to provide both the source and the translation?
Yes, and it is the only mandatory upload. Ts-Agents creates the /manuscripts and /translations folders in your drive during the blueprint; you drop your files in. Without the source text, the reviewer can only compare the translation to itself.
What if the tone guide does not exist?
That is the most common case, and it is handled. Ts-Agents separates what you must upload from what has to be written together: for the tone guide and the glossary, the assistant asks you questions and drafts them under your control, then the agents refer to them.
Can the AI modify my manuscripts?
No. The conversation agent has no write tools at all: it reads and delegates. Only the documents you explicitly asked to have drafted — guide, glossary — are written, and you review them.
